Between force of nature and perception research

With the exhibition "PASSAGE", artrmx e. V. is bringing the fascinating series of works by photographer Jürgen Wassmuth to Cologne. Wassmuth accompanied a multi-week expedition on the research vessel Polarstern across the South Atlantic and experienced one of the most extreme landscapes on earth. Over a distance of more than 10,000 miles, his photographs captured the unpredictable storms, the futuristic atmosphere of the engine rooms and the impressive beauty of the icebergs. In his pictures, these impressions become experiences that move between photography, painting and poetic perception.

At the artrmx art space, these photographs are not presented as classic documentation, but as visual spaces of experience. They illustrate a nature whose fragile beauty is immediately touching in a changing world. Wassmuth's images are more than just aesthetic objects - they are invitations to reflect on climate, perception and the future.

PASSAGE continues the annual program of artrmx e. V., which deals with ecological and social issues. Wassmuth's work, as a poetic reflection on transience and change, fits seamlessly into this context and enriches it with a sensitively staged sensory experience.
