Chamber Remix Cologne

The concert series "Chamber Remix Cologne" offers a captivating experience of contemporary music, which uses the Kunsthafen in Rhenania in Cologne as a creative venue. On March 8, Jens Düppe KlangStrukturen I awaits you.

KlangStrukturen I is an interdisciplinary ensemble project by Jens Düppe (WDR Jazz Prize for Improvisation), his jazz quartet and Cologne sound researcher Eva Pöpplein. This line-up brings together five musicians with distinctly different musical backgrounds - from consistently acoustically oriented improvisation practice to experimental sound research.

The project aims to further develop contemporary improvisation and ensemble concepts and sees itself as a contribution to the current discourse between jazz, experimental electronics and artistic sound research.

Eva Pöpplein works with field recordings and expands the ensemble's acoustic sound spectrum through live sampling processes. She records the Jens Düppe Quartet in real time, transforms the sound material electronically and in some cases feeds it directly back into the live context. This creates a high density of sound and a multi-layered musical space.
