Charlotte Zander

Exhibition

Collector, gallery owner, museum founder

The exhibition "Charlotte Zander: Collector, Gallery Owner, Museum Founder" at the Central Archive for German and International Art Market Research (ZADIK) presents the multifaceted work of a unique personality in the art world. Charlotte Zander (1930-2014) was not only a passionate collector of works of so-called "naive art", but also the founder of her own gallery in Munich and a museum in Bönnigheim Castle. During her lifetime and beyond, she enriched the debate on art by self-taught artists and skillfully used her network for artistic visibility. The exhibition, which runs from October 10, 2025 to September 25, 2026, not only showcases her impressive collection, but also encourages a critical examination of art historical narratives.
