From October 28 to 31, 2026, the Cologne Philharmonic Hall will host the first edition of the new “In Motion” festival. The festival centers on the encounter between live classical music and dance. It demonstrates how music can be experienced not only aurally but also physically, and how sound and movement can merge into a shared artistic experience.
You can look forward to exciting performers who will open up new perspectives on concerts and performances at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. Dance and music do not simply appear side by side, but react to one another, complement each other, and create moments in which the concert hall is transformed into a dynamic space of experience.
Movement also comes into play outside the hall. Before the concerts, the UNANiM collective and the French company Barks will present approximately 30-minute performances in the foyer and around the Philharmonie. In this way, the festival experience begins even before the actual concert, making “In Motion” a special invitation to rediscover classical music in Cologne.
