The fish and gourmet market at Cologne Racecourse opens its doors again in spring and transforms the extensive grounds into a place where culinary discoveries and artisanal creativity find a common resonance on six Sundays. Between April 19 and September 20, a temporary market landscape will be created that is constantly expanding: over sixty stalls are already represented at the start of the season, with more vendors announced for the following dates. The mixture of gastronomic offerings and artisan products allows a glimpse into the production methods of small manufactories, whose handmade products often reveal regional and sustainable approaches. Around a third of the stands are dedicated to food and drink - from fish dishes and street food to wine and delicatessen - while the remainder present fashion, jewelry, flowers or finely crafted foods such as ham and salami. The racecourse provides a setting that combines urban proximity with spaciousness: Beach chairs, green areas and a view over the grounds structure an environment in which a DJ provides restrained musical accents. Family-friendly offers, free children's entertainment, free parking and good accessibility underline the low-threshold character of this market. The result is a format that brings together encounters, enjoyment and leisure in a harmonious balance.
