A night at the theater about power, AI, and digital warfare

With “MONEYLAND,” the Schauspiel Köln is bringing a play by Alexander Kerlin to the stage of the Kleines Haus. The story centers on Noah, a documentary filmmaker who travels deep into the desert for a critical film project. There, he meets Ava Park, a tech billionaire and founder of Atlas Analytics, at the construction site of her new luxury bunker, 15 meters underground.

What begins as an interview turns into a hellish journey between truth, manipulation, and personal entanglement. Ava’s company works with geostrategic software designed to analyze vast amounts of data and predict the enemy’s actions. At the same time, Noah’s daughter June is suspected of having been involved in an assassination attempt on Ava.

When the bunker’s AI, Samantha, finally predicts that Noah will commit a crime against Ava, the situation spirals out of control. “MONEYLAND” explores who makes the decisions when artificial intelligence calculates the future, predicts violence, and redistributes power. An intense evening of theater exploring digital warfare, tech capitalism, and authoritarian politics.
