Musica Sacra Ukraina | A Ukrainian Christmas Festival
Classic
A festival of soundscapes
The event "Musica Sacra Ukraina" offers an evening full of musical discoveries, bringing the unique soundscapes of the Ukrainian Baroque and early Classical tradition to life at Museum Schnütgen. On December 18, 2025, from 18:30 to 19:45, the Ensemble Partes will immerse itself in the historical soundscapes of the anonymous Partesny Concerti, which found their unique form during the heyday of Ukrainian music between Kyiv and Lviv. Historically significant and socially relevant, the event creates a fascinating dialog between Western and Eastern musical traditions. This ambitious performance interweaves Partesny compositions with newer forms of musical expression and presents works by Mykola Dyletsky, Andrii Raczynsky and Maksym Berezovsky. Supported by Museum Schnütgen and in cooperation with international partners, this event is not only an audiovisual experience, but also offers a thought-provoking reflection on cultural diversity and its timeless relevance.
