On March 14, 2026, a space will be created in the Lutherkirche in which the ancient spring festival Newroz/Nouruz will unfold its significance as a moment of new beginnings. The evening combines musical traditions that have shaped transitions between cultures over the centuries. The A.G.A Trio opens with soundtracks from Anatolia and the South Caucasus, which tell of encounters, separation and the passing on of shared memories. Duduk, kaval and accordion form a resonant body of sound that makes the tension between traditional lines and contemporary interpretation audible. In the second part, Gülseven Medar and her trio perform a repertoire that combines Alevi, Kurdish, Turkish and Zazaic song traditions with Armenian, Arabic, Hebrew and Romani influences. Her voice stands for a practice of musical dialog that does not separate cultural origins, but brings them together. The evening will be complemented by culinary offerings from a charitable project, the proceeds of which will benefit social initiatives. The event invites people to see Newroz/Nouruz not just as a festive moment, but as an expression of communal responsibility - a coming together that does not gloss over light and hope, but takes them seriously.
