The exhibition "Written Images – Contemporary Iranian Graphic Design" opens from December 13 to 21, 2025, at Kunsthafen in Rhenania, Cologne. Presented by Contemporary Middle East e.V., it focuses on the evolution of typographic design in Iran since the millennium. Featuring over 35 designers, the exhibition showcases a broad range of innovative posters, videos, as well as book and magazine covers. These works reflect not only cultural identities but also the stylistic, typographic, and conceptual developments that shape the Iranian graphic design sector. A highlight is the integration of calligraphy, a traditional form that creates new visual languages in contemporary contexts. The exhibition is accompanied by workshops, including a specialized typography workshop with Hoseyn A. Zadeh on December 13 and a calligraphy workshop with Dr. Shams Anwari-Alhosseyni. Experience the innovative art of Iranian graphic design, internationally recognized and shown in Germany for the first time in this form.
