A space for young art: the artothek in Cologne
Viewing art in the context of an exhibition can be too fleeting, the time too short for a lasting impression or message to sink in. The artothek, a space for young art, gives you the opportunity to place art in your own environment – for 10 weeks at a time. The collection comprises a total of more than 1,500 works by international artists. It includes works by Richter, Warhol and Kippenberger, as well as works by interesting young talents. Every year, a jury of expert’s curates a complementary exhibition programme with art by a wide range of young creatives – this includes paintings, sculpture, photography and performances.
The artothek is located in the immediate centre of the city of Cologne. It is around 400 metres from Cologne Central Station. The station is well connected to the international and national railway network.
