Tourist attractions – various
Kardinal-Höffner-Platz is a narrow square below the Domplatte opposite the west façade of Cologne Cathedral, which is adorned by both the 9 metre high replica of the cathedral spire, the so-called Kreuzblume, and the flat dove fountain designed by Ewald Mataré in 1953. Adjacent to this is VisitKöln at Kardinal-Höffner-Platz 1, the popular Café Reichard with its large outdoor terrace and the Domforum. The previously nameless square was given its name in 2008, named after Joseph Cardinal Höffner, who held the office of Archbishop of Cologne until 1987. Today, the square's central location makes it a popular meeting place for city tours of all kinds.
