Inside is a copy of the sculpture 'Mourning Parents', the original of which was created by Käthe Kollwitz in 1932 in memory of her fallen son Peter. The slightly enlarged copies of the original figures were created by Mataré students Joseph Beuys and Erwin Heerich. The memorial for prisoners of war at the front of the ruins is also impressive. In 1964, the Bruder Konrad Chapel on the ground floor of the tower, which was decorated by Peter Hecker and Will Thonet, was finally consecrated. It also contains a crescent moon Madonna from the 16th century.
