Many galleries are located in the city centre of Cologne. Ruttkowski;68 boasts two showrooms in the hip Ehrenfeld quarter: one of them is inside a flat. The concept of the art gallery is to be approachable, familiar and not at all elitist. Since it opened in 2010, it has developed into one of the most exciting galleries in the area – especially for young, up-and-coming artists. Art – including fashion and music – has a home here: no distinction is made, no categorisation into high or low culture. Ruttkowski;68 has branches in Düsseldorf, Paris and New York, but Cologne is designed as a space for curatorial projects and experimental solo exhibitions.
