Immerse yourself in the festive music of the Kölner Philharmonie when violist Nils Mönkemeyer invites you to a special concert on Christmas Day. Under the direction of Werner Ehrhardt, the ensemble "l'arte del mondo" will present a finely tuned program of baroque and modern music. Through the innovative arrangement of Antonio Vivaldi's works for viola, Mönkemeyer creates new soundscapes that preserve the spirit of the original while impressing with fresh interpretations.

The program will be complemented by Arvo Pärt's "Fratres", which will be performed in a version for viola, strings and percussion - a thought-provoking composition that reflects the contemplative nature of the Christmas season. Historical symphonies by Joseph Martin Kraus and Joseph Aloys Schmittbaur round off the concert with festive sounds from the 18th century.
