Ping-Hsiang Wang's "RETINA MANEUVER" celebrates its premiere in Cologne and takes the audience on an exciting multimedia journey through memories and emotions. Wang, a Taiwanese reservist, reflects on the transformative significance of personal experiences and breaks down collective and individual memories in the course of the performance. The performance stages the tension between past and present, illuminating a queer love story against the backdrop of latent dangers of war. Supported by visual and technical elements, a digital monument of fragile memories is created that explores the complex interweaving of identity and threat. "RETINA MANEUVER" evolves into a collective confrontation with uncertainty and loss, illuminating the forces beyond individual control that influence our existence.
