Lecture/reading

Eddie Piller & Dean Orton Reading Cologne 2026

A special event is coming up as part of the Cologne Soul Weekender 2026: the reading and discussion with Eddie Piller and Dean Orton promises deep insights into the subcultures that have shaped generations. Eddie Piller, founder of Acid Jazz Records, takes visitors back to the vibrant London of the 80s with his book "Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances" and brings the mod revival era to life. His counterpart, Dean Orton, restorer and collector, describes his love of craftsmanship and freedom in "A Life in Lambretta".

On March 14, 2026, the residential community in Cologne will be the setting for this intellectual journey, which promises not only readings, but also signed book purchases and stimulating conversations. Part of the proceeds will support the non-profit organization "Um halb an der Bar", which also makes the event an inclusive and socially responsible encounter. Immerse yourself in the stories of these icons and experience an afternoon of cultural reflection and exchange.
