After being closed for several years, the pub was reopened in 2008, renovated in the style of the old interior. Despite the extensive work, it has retained its original charm and continues to attract regulars and tourists alike. In particular, the pub's ability to create the impression of an "island in changing times" offers visitors the opportunity to forget the hectic pace of change in the city and experience the constants of Cologne culture.
In addition to the famous Päffgen Kölsch, the menu offers hearty snacks for the big appetite as well as traditional snacks. With a selection ranging from bratwurst to Halven Hahn, the focus is on regional and traditional cuisine that keeps the flavours of the past alive for all generations.
