Argentinian artist Franco Fasoli began creating large murals in the mid-1990s. He initially became known in his home city of Buenos Aires under the pseudonym JAZ, before his art gained worldwide attention thanks to his distinctive style.
The colours used, which are borrowed from scenography, and his motifs are both remarkable. These represent symbioses of human and / or animal creatures.
As in the mural created for the CityLeaks Festival in 2015, the viewer appears to be witnessing the process of mingling itself. However, the mood expressed is not exclusively harmonious. In his murals, Franco Fasoli deals with the complexity and conflicts of coming together. The use of symbolic motifs thus allows interpretations and conclusions to be drawn about human and social sensitivities.
