Ammo Abo Bakr is an Egyptian artist who has attracted attention as a street artist, particularly during and since the Egyptian revolution in 2011. His political art reported on, documented and intervened in the revolutionary process. It is noteworthy that the artist was an art professor at Luxor University before his career as a street artist.
In his works, the artist deals with Egypt's cultural heritage and processes it in order to maintain and continue its traditions - colourful, dreamy motifs characterise the overall work.
In Dünnwalder Straße, it is almost as if the sleeping man's dream envelops him and merges into reality. The dreams that spring from the fantastic contrast with the sparse background of the real world.
