Neptunbad

Thermal bath/sauna area

Historical elegance and modernity

The Neptunbad on Neptunplatz in Cologne-Ehrenfeld combines the city’s history with contemporary fitness culture. Since 1912, the building has served first as a municipal swimming facility; today, the Art Nouveau building—a designated historic landmark—is used as a sports and spa facility spanning more than 5,000 square meters. The 13-meter-high domed hall, once a swimming pool, now houses a spacious fitness studio with personalized training as well as class rooms for activities ranging from yoga to functional training.

Wellness Between the Imperial Baths and the Zen Garden

The Asian-Japanese-inspired wellness area features eight saunas, pools, onsen baths, rooftop terraces, and a carefully designed Zen garden. Steam infusions, sound and relaxation journeys, and relaxation rooms with waterbeds create space for mindful regeneration. The Sento Lounge is the perfect place to wind down after a spa visit.

The historic area preserves a rare architectural continuity with the landmark-protected Imperial Bath, underwater music, and the Art Nouveau sauna. It is complemented by a steam bath and a laconium, where daily ceremonies featuring nourishing treatments or invigorating scrubs can be booked. Massages—including Ayurvedic, deep-tissue, and relaxation massages—round out the offerings. The Art Nouveau restaurant Badenbaden provides a culinary backdrop to your stay beneath the glass roof from the Wilhelminian era.
