Bach in Space

Classic

Sounds of the universe

On April 5, the Kölner Philharmonie will enchant audiences with an experience between music and the cosmos. "Bach in Space" offers a fascinating symbiosis of classical music and overwhelming images of outer space. The outstanding pianist Mona Asuka performs works by Johann Sebastian Bach live, while razor-sharp NASA images on a large screen transport the audience into the depths of the universe. With excerpts from the "Well-Tempered Clavier", the "Goldberg Variations" and the "Italian Concerto", Asuka creates an impressive sound journey that sheds new light on Bach's music. This combination of image and music promises to dissolve the boundaries of space and time and transport listeners away from their everyday lives.
