Bomsori | Junge Deutsche Philharmonie | Sir George Benjamin

Classic

Soundscapes from four eras

Four composers from different countries and eras, united in their exquisite sense for unique tonal colors and sophisticated instrumental blends. Instead of using brush and canvas, they paint their dazzling works with notes in the scores. Richard Strauss, a master of orchestration, found gripping and at the same time touching tones for the fever dream of a dying person in "Death and Transfiguration." A few years later, the ocean sparkles in the frothy play of the waves in Claude Debussy's "La Mer." A few years after that, the richly orchestrated ensemble in Karol Szymanowski’s first Violin Concerto shimmers to the virtuosic play of the solo violin with the South Korean rising star Bomsori, while in the “Concerto for Orchestra” by George Benjamin, each individual orchestra musician becomes a soloist in their own right.
