Cathedral, Bridges, and Panoramic Views—Enjoying the City Amid Landmarks and Water

This varied 8-kilometer loop combines exercise with the most beautiful views of Cologne. The starting point is Cologne Cathedral, from which the route crosses the Hohenzollern Bridge with its famous view of the Old Town. On the right bank of the Rhine, the route takes you on a leisurely stroll along the Rhine Boulevard, continuing via Deutzer Freiheit to the expansive Poller Wiesen—with plenty of open space and views of the Rhine and the city.

Crossing the Südbrücke brings you to the tour’s panoramic highlight: from here, an impressive view of the Cologne skyline unfolds. Back on the left bank of the Rhine, the route runs along the modern Rheinauhafen and through the historic Old Town—always accompanied by the river and with frequent views of the Cathedral.

An ideal loop for anyone who wants to combine running or hiking with urban flair and impressive views.

The tour is especially recommended in the morning or evening, when the rising or setting sun lends the city a unique atmosphere.
