Route: From St. Nicholas Village to an Alternative Christmas

The tour begins at Rudolfplatz with the atmospheric “St. Nicholas Village,” where quaint little huts and handmade gift ideas await. From here, the route leads along Aachener Straße into the Belgian Quarter. Brabanter and Maastrichter Straßen invite you to linger with their unique shops and stylish cafés. It gets especially romantic as you continue along Brüsseler Straße and Antwerpener Straße, where you can really feel the alternative vibe of this neighborhood.

Once you arrive at Friesenplatz, be sure to make a quick detour to the HEAVENUE Christmas Market. This vibrant Christmas market delights visitors with its trendy setting, colorful lights, and an inclusive program. The unique atmosphere, combined with the imaginative stalls and creative offerings, makes it a special attraction that perfectly enhances your Christmas stroll.
Continuing through the neighborhood, past beautiful historic buildings, you’ll reach Santa’s Christmas Market in the Mediapark. This sparkling wonderland, designed like a gift box, is crowned by the highlight “Santa in the Sky,” where you’ll float 50 meters above the rooftops of Cologne against the backdrop of the KölnTurm.

Afterward, the tour leads through August-Sande-Park and a section of the Grüngürtel to Ehrenfeld.
