Stefanie Pluta: Scenario for a Crystal

Exhibition

Installations and photographs

Forty years after Polke's Athanor installation in the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, the exhibition Scenario for a Crystal by artist Stefanie Pluta picks up on his interest in minerals and natural processes. The starting point is the story of the Indergand crystal, a smoky quartz found on a deep glacier in 1946. Photographs, drawings and showcases form an approach to the crystal as an absent protagonist - between observation of nature, transformation and museum staging.

Part of Sigmar Polke. Athanor NOW, a project of the Anna Polke Foundation.
