Vast river landscapes and urban vistas

This extensive loop along the Rhine is designed for anyone who wants to experience Cologne up close while running or hiking. Starting at the cathedral, the route first heads upstream along the Rhine to the Zoobrücke and across into the lush Rheinpark. The route then follows the right bank of the Rhine southward—offering expansive views, the city skyline, and a relaxed atmosphere on the Poller Wiesen. Instead of crossing at the Südbrücke, you stay along the water and enjoy the nature-filled sections all the way to the Rodenkirchener Brücke.

After crossing the bridge, a sweeping view of the Rhine opens up before the route heads back toward the city center along the left bank of the Rhine. With the river constantly in view and urban architecture lining the path, you gradually approach the cathedral again. A varied, longer route for anyone who wants to combine nature, the city, and physical activity.
