The Juggler of Notre Dame
From September 18 to November 13, 2026, the Spiegelpalast will host a narrative tribute to 1930s Paris, where forms of artistic expression that transcend the ordinary intertwine. Amid imaginary street cafés, the shimmering reflections of an imagined Seine, and the subtly nuanced sounds of a bygone era, a variety-style narrative emerges that weaves together acrobatics, juggling, and dance into an atmospheric tapestry. The stage becomes an urban microcosm where physical mastery and the art of storytelling work in equal measure, transporting the audience into an aesthetically charged world imbued with longing, ambivalence, and a touch of melancholy. A plot unfolds in which subtle hints only gradually reveal their meaning. Wine, the musette, and the nocturnal spirit of the French metropolis serve as cultural symbols that frame the scenario without romanticizing it. Toward the end, an unexpected shift in perspective emerges, casting what has been experienced in a new light and lending the production an additional narrative layer.
